We have arrived (June 14th)

Reluctantly, we left our enthusiastic "rancher / hostess" at Fathers Country Inn and headed out in the direction of the great Pacific.
Just outside of Merritt we suddenly heard a scary scraping noise coming from under our Corolla, only to discover that a stone-guard panel underneath had come loose and was scraping along the pavement. After some conniving, Joanne proposed that we use a shoelace to tie it up, and that worked like a charm. As it happened a member of the regional constabulary was passing by and helped me shoe-lace the bottom of the car back together, ... And we were back on the road. This meant a small detour to Vancouver airport to trade the car, and wound up with a VW Jetta.
Lunch was a quick sub in Hope
Then off to the ferry stop at Tsawwassen for the ride to Victoria island.
Great ferry ride (Jim Carver, you would have loved it!). Arrived in Schwartz Bay at 7 pm and at the 'A Bed on the Inlet' B&B around 8:30.
This B&B is great with a fabulous view ... it's a fully equipped 2-bdrm self-contained apartment stocked with everything from teabags to toys to cookies to a variety of shampoos.
Temps are unseasonably cool here, highs around 20. We seem to jinx the temps any time we go anywhere.
Passed thru some stunning mountain passes again today ... 'amazing' is an understatement.
We're pretty toasted after our 12-hour journey ... G'nite!!
