Drowsy after our experience with "Super Eight Motel" overnight noise levels, went out to experience the rockies! within half an hour of leaving Calgary, we saw the foothills. From that point on almost every bend in the road brought such incredible sights that we stopped several times and the 3hour trip ended up taking 5 hours. We have seen pictures, but seeing the mountains "for real" left us speechless!
The nicest people we met were Americans who gladly took our picture and stopped to chat. (they were a retired theater group from texas!) And then there was a group taking antique British cars to a show in radium hot springs - nee met up with them several times during the day giving Karl a chance to drool over the cars close up! (especially the MGBs).
We arrived to find that the cute B&B on the Internet looks bit different close up, but still clean and well cared for inside. Nothing wrong with a work in progress.
Tonight we visited with my Aunt Hennie and Uncle Arnold. We had a great visit, it was hard to leave..
We are still tired from last night, so we plan to turn in early tonight and check out the hot spring pool tomorrow before we head off to check out the high mountain passes.
Toddles from the kanjo korners wanderers.
